Partnership for Successful Schools

Business Initiatives > Principal Peer Exchange Network (PPEN)

T
he Principal Peer Exchange Network (PPEN) was initiated in January 1997 by the Partnership in collaboration with Georgetown College. PPEN brought together business leaders and school principals to share information on what they considered their best workplace or schoolroom practices.

The principals were introduced to business ideas that could be useful in an educational setting. They also learned and benchmarked best practices from other school presentations that they could apply at their own schools.

The program focused on three goals:

  • To provide a highly interactive forum for business and school leaders to exchange mutually beneficial ideas, experiences, and information.
  • To leverage knowledge through the sharing of business and educational best practices.
  • To provide recognition, support, and an expanded level of experience for school leaders through a formal program of networking with business leaders and exposure to business best practices.
